Our IT System and Programming Division is looking for a motivated and talented individual to join our team. We are searching for a programmer analyst intern who will provide skilled support and development across a broad base of applications for the City’s business environment (Intranet, Internet, and stand-alone applications) using a variety of software development languages. In addition, there are tasks that may require development of reports using Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL-Server Reporting Services.

The work may involve debugging issues and developing solutions for applications that can include reports, web applications integrated with Microsoft SharePoint and back-end Oracle and SQL server databases, and legacy applications migrated to the web. Work requires exercising technical independence in determining work methods and procedures.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Current standing as a graduate or undergraduate student at a college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics; and minimum 6 months of paid, unpaid, or volunteer experience, in the support and development of applications or analytical and problem solving skills; or any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by this position. High school juniors and seniors with experience and knowledge in Computer Science, Information Technology or exceptional analytical and problem solving skills are encouraged to apply.
