Position: Consulting Database Administrator – SAP HANA

Location: 7701 Airport Center Dr, Greensboro, NC 27409

Description

Provide expert guidance & input to the tactical & strategic SAP database roadmap to ensure the most effective & efficient means to operate.

Provide Level IV support for SAP HANA databases when requested

Responsible for all activities related to the administration of computerized databases & data models w/ key RDBMS area of responsibilities on DB2 w/ SAP HANA expertise.

Collaborate to drive the standards, design & implementation of the physical data storage, maintenance, data access, security administration, performance, & data integrity of all assigned databases.

Work collaboratively across the organization, considering all potential solutions & impacted areas.

Consult w/ Systems Development, DBA Staff & Technical Support on technical problems, methods, directions & data access methods like SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers & User Defined Functions.

Direct & participate w/ team members in the analysis, development & delivery of all support & project work for assigned function(s).

Provide mentoring, knowledge, skills transfer & training to staff.

Perform resource planning, deployment, tracking & reporting for all assigned team members.

Consult w/ the DBA staff & Technical Support groups in the tuning & upgrading of database management system software.

Confer w/ & advises others in the use & applicability of database systems & supporting products.

Create database schemas & sub-schemas to support logical database model for SAP database solutions.

Provide guidance on the development, monitoring, & maintenance of backup & recovery for DB2 & HANA database solutions for the SAP platform.

Provide requirement analysis & evaluations for proposed data management software products & solutions.

Develop/direct the development of utilities used for the monitoring, tuning & analysis of database systems.

Project long-range requirements for database administration & design in conjunction w/ other managers in the information systems function.

Consult w/ application programmers, technical staff & end users in troubleshooting & improving application response time & availability.

Perform database performance monitoring & analysis & proactively implements needed adjustments.

Requirements

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Must have 6 years of progressive experience in database administrator and/or development positions performing the following:

Database Administration on IBM DB2

Applying expert-level knowledge of database theory, logical and physical database design and database applications

Performance-tuning on database/application and Operating system level

Applying expert-level knowledge in the design, modeling, developing, and maintenance of large scale databases and in data access methods, data extraction, migration, and loading processes.

Cross -platform database network communication techniques

Must have 1 year of experience performing the following:
Utilizing experience with SAP module BW/BPC/ECC/FICO/PI

Hana Data Modeling,

SAP HANA scale-up / scale-out architecture

SAP HANA migration

SAP HANA backup/recovery

SAP HANA monitoring/disaster Recovery
