IT Business Intelligence Analyst

What you will do:
Provides companywide strategic, analytical and technical support for ERP, business intelligence (BI) and other system analytic activities by acting as an intermediary between the extended business community and the technical team working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The Business Analyst is also heavily involved with the development, distribution and delivery of all KPI’s, Dashboards and other BI activities including but not limited to the BI Cubes and underlying architecture. Daily support of system users across the enterprise is also part of the responsibilities.

Duties:
Designs, develops and maintains reports and analytical tools, including ongoing monitoring and refinement

Partners with business departmental teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports

Obtains requirements using interviews, document analysis, formal requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis.

Evaluates alternate solutions and design processes and systems which includes: user impact considerations, cost and benefit analysis and processing specifications.

Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and works with customers to uncover unmet business needs.

Develops and maintains existing business data warehouse; designs and maintains data dictionary for end user understanding of available data.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on team outcomes.

Ability to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment while exercising independent judgment and initiative.

Professional image with ability to form good partner relationships across functional teams.

Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Skills you’ll need:
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience:
3-5 years experience with Microsoft NAV or relevant ERP system, Data Warehouse Lifecycle Management and dimensional modeling of data.

Expert experience with MS SQL Server, including Reporting Services, Integration Services and Analysis Services.

Expert experience with MS SharePoint, including PerformancePoint, Power Pivot, Visio, and Excel services.

Experience in a manufacturing environment.
