D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Information Technology Area Manager for their Corporate Information Technology Department. The right candidate will manage subordinate IT staff and assigned aspects of the IT Department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support Services:
    • Responsible for the overall performance of the Corporate Help Desk Center
    • Senior technical resource for the Help Desk specialists
    • Responsible for the creation of Help Desk support documentation and specialist training
    • Responsible for supplying adhoc reports to management of Help Desk activity
    • Supervise all help desk activities and insure a 90% or higher service level
    • Responsible for scheduling Help Desk staff for normal operations
    • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of image files for the configuration of desktop and laptops
    • Responsible for work order assignment and follow-up
    • Responsible for the research and testing of new desktop, laptop, printer technologies, OS releases and maintenance releases of production OS
  • Server/Network:
    • Provide day-to-day supervision of network and server administrators and technical guidance for design, installation and configuration
    • Problem analysis, resolution and support of local and wide area networking systems
    • Responsible for a wide variety of WAN routing protocols, including routed IP, as well as other Cisco router configurations
  • Software Application Development:
    • Coordinate larger scale development efforts including building and reviewing technical specifications, developing project timelines, monitoring project progress and coordinating the implementation of that project
    • Provide system specifications presentations or training
    • Provide technical feedback for other developers on design documents, new database files, and planned coding techniques/approaches
    • Assume responsibility and accountability for all development/support of back office ERP systems
    • Possess above average technical capabilities and able to contribute to programming efforts if needed
    • Serves as subject matter expert of all ERP systems and be able to communicate that information successfully through written or oral communications
    • Improve internal processes including procedures to efficiently utilize defect tracking and help-desk software to improve the end-user environment
    • Provide operational and system direction as it relates to the Operating System policies and procedures
    • Evaluate new tools for possible future deployment
    • Provide feedback based on upper management requests on ERP or AS/400 related issues
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages two or more employees in a specific IT Area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
