IT ANALYST II / JAVA / .NET

The State of Utah Department of Technology Service (DTS) is looking for talented application

developers to join our Solutions Delivery team. The person in this position will be assigned to the Labor Commission and is responsible for serving existing applications as well as being involved in architecting and building new technical solutions for many of Labor Commission’s legacy platforms.

The ideal candidate will require a competent level of expertise with experience in application development and design. In addition, experience in relational database and structured testing is preferred.

The state’s technology operations are managed by the Department of Technology Services.

Example of Duties:

  • Help support and enhance existing Java web applications.
  • Help develop new Java web applications.
  • Help develop new .NET applications.
  • Anticipates the impact that new or modified software will have on existing systems.
  • Monitors and evaluates operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Identifies problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions.
  • Recommends user level computer system enhancements to better meet customer needs.

Typical Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in Java, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience with JDBC, ODBC, XML (AJAX), JSON, Java APIs
  • Experience with Spring MVC is preferred
  • Experience with and/or exposure to MyBatis is a plus
  • Experience with Kendo controls is also a plus
  • Additionally, preference will be given to individuals who have experience, exposure, and a willingness to learn .NET technologies. This includes:
    • C# and .Net framework
    • MVVM and MVC
    • ASP.NET background
  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2015/2017
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server
