IS-Support Tech

Responsible for Installation, implementation and maintenance of LAN used within the facility and supporting on-site/off-site locations. Initial response to help desk calls made within the first 24 hours. Responsible for the installation and maintenance of computer equipment as needed throughout the facility and the facilities off-site locations. Maintain equipment and PC software records. Works with Lead Support Tech to train or arrange for training of personnel in proper use and maintenance of software and equipment. Keeps current with principals and practices, technology, regulations and standards that apply to healthcare information technology.

Qualifications

High School Education / GED. Individual will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures. Individual must possess effective communication skills, written and verbal, as well as good problem solving and organizational skills. Must be able to effectively prioritize and manage tasks. Must possess the ability to work well with others. Pays close attention to detail. Requires good problem solving abilities, organizational skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Well organized and self-motivated with multiple-project management skills. Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary teams. Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a hospital environment required. Minimum 1 year experience with AS400 operations required. Experience with HMS software a plus. Minimum 3-5 years experience with network management required. Minimum 3-5 years experience with server, desktop and peripheral configuration required. Minimum 3-5 years experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues required. Hands on experience in data entry a plus. Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer.
