Brief Description of the Organization
CBNA is the primary legal entity for Citi, providing products and services to consumers, financial institutions and corporate clients around the world. In the past, Citi has provided most of its internal reporting on a business by business basis. With the changes in the regulatory environment, strong legal entity reporting and governance has become essential. This team is responsible for ensuring that CBNA has the appropriate governance and control infrastructure to meet the demand for legal entity planning, execution, information management and the ever-evolving regulatory environment.


Description of the Position

An Investment Finance (IF) Portfolio Management Specialist’s primary responsibility is to perform the underwriting and analysis required to obtain the credit approval of Citi Private Bank’s core lending products, and to work alongside IF Transactors in the generation of prudent and sustainable lending revenue for the business.

This is a demanding role that requires strong analystical skills to perform loan underwriting, while ensuring compliance with Risk Acceptance standards and Credit Policy. The key responsibilities include: preparation of credit approval packages, controlling for accuracy and completeness of data; financial analysis, including cash flow statements; collateral evaluation; as well as preparing and negotiating documentation for facilities. The ability to maintain tight controls over the process and work under pressure to tight deadlines is an essential element of the role. The Specialist will be required to influence all stakeholders, including Private Bankers, Risk, auditors and other areas of the Bank to ensure processes meet the Banks’s high standards. Finally, problem recognition and assisting with remedial management is an important component.

An IF Portfolio Management Specialist is expected to pursue the required career development and training in order to ultimately achieve the status of Business Senior Credit Officer.
