Investment Banking Summer Analyst – Chicago Restructuring

Summer analysts will have active roles in Lazard’s Chicago restructuring practice, joining small transaction teams providing financial advisory services to the firm’s clients. Because restructuring work requires broad financial knowledge, our summer analysts will participate in an on-going, hands-on training program incorporating a variety of financial concepts across capital markets, corporate management, M&A, and valuation, in addition to restructuring subject matters. Our summer analysts will also build fundamental banking skills, including financial analysis and advanced modeling techniques. Day-to-day responsibilities could include financial analysis and modeling, company/industry research, participating in the development of client presentations, and closely interacting with bankers at all levels. Summer analysts will also be invited to join calls and meetings on live deals to provide exposure to the broader restructuring investment banking process. Summer analysts are expected to spend 9 weeks at the Firm.

Qualifications

Candidates should be Class of 2020 university students and top academic performers who are willing to work in an unstructured environment, which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning. Academic backgrounds may vary (no background in finance or accounting is required), however candidates must be comfortable with basic financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work.
