Investment Banking Banker

The Investment Banking Banker position is responsible for revenue generation through execution of debt and equity transactions. The Banker is expected to develop a strong understanding of capital markets and other institutional products. The position also requires building corporate finance proficiency and relationships with internal groups and some external market specialists. This position reports to the Investment Banking Manager, within Comerica Securities.

Successful incumbents have strong decision making and problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of financial markets and instruments, demonstrated customer presentation and customer service skills.

Position Responsibilities

• Support Senior Corporate Investment Banker through generating analytics for pitch books and other related sales material.
• Help to analyze trends and the key terms of capital markets products, and learn how to make capital structure recommendations.
• Develop relationships with internal sources.
• Work in concert with underwriting, trading and potential sales distribution efforts.
• Assist Senior Bankers with tracking and analyzing other institutional products
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• 4 years in finance and accounting (investment banking /corporate finance experience preferred)
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Series 79 required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
