INVESTMENT ANALYST

Establishes, maintains, deposits and disburses registry funds ordered by the courts, in a timely manner.

Detailed Description
Processes the receipt and investment of all court ordered investments for the District Courts and maintains accurate account records. Updates the daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly Trust statistics. Updates and maintains account records and databases ensuring that interest and maturities are posted and tracked, initiates appropriation action in accordance with court orders upon maturity of investments, and recommends modifications to current systems. Monitors maturities of invested funds, contacts banks to ensure appropriate actions have been taken and funds comply with investment laws. Processes release of invested/non-invested funds in accordance with court orders and keeps manager abreast of these releases. Processes the yearly escheatment of Civil, Family and Criminal funds to the State Comptroller. Processes the yearly 1099 distribution of invested accounts to the proper tax payers. Approves sequestration surety, temporary restraining orders and similar bonds. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or in a job related field of study. Knowledgeable of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Must have in-depth understanding of the Local Government Code related to registry funds, the Code of Civil Procedures and the Family Code. Standard office environment.
