Investment Analyst

Position
The Investment Consulting Practice of Milliman is seeking an Investment Analyst for our San Francisco, California office. The position involves performance report preparation, and follow-up with clients, custodians, and investment managers. In addition, preparation of manager search projects and asset allocation studies will be areas of focus. It is expected that this individual will participate in the CFA program with support provided by Milliman.
Performance Measurement Responsibilities
Maintain monthly portfolio accounting information
Monthly account performance reconciliation and client flash report generation
Prepare reports on investment manager performance and portfolio characteristics
Interface with clients, investment managers, and custodian banks
Manager Search Responsibilities
Screen investment manager databases for qualified investment managers
Develop investment manager questionnaires
Read investment manager questionnaire responses
Prepare manager search reports
Asset Allocation Study Responsibilities
Review recent actuarial reports
Work with models to prepare actuarial projection of client liabilities
Assess and recommend investment asset classes that are beneficial to clients
Project long term asset class returns, risks and correlations
Prepare asset/liability studies
Qualifications
Knowledge of investment and performance concepts
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Desire to work hard within a group framework
Analytical and problem solving skills
Good oral, written, and presentation skills
Strong sense of accountability and ownership
Experience producing and delivering communications to senior personnel
Prefer 3-4 years of experience in the investment industry

Education

Required

Bachelor of Arts or better in Actuarial Science or related field.

Bachelor of Arts or better in Finance or related field.

Bachelor of Arts or better in Mathematics or related field.
