Job Title: Inventory & Distribution Clerk

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week

Reports to: Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Location: Central Kitchen

Pay Grade: $13-15 per hour

Since 1970, Meals on Wheels People has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 30 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 5,300 volunteers, the nonprofit, organization now serves 5,700 meals daily and more than 1.3 million meals each year.

General Summary:

Under direction of the Warehouse & Distribution Manager, provide administrative, warehouse and distribution support to the Food Service Department. Prepare daily production sheets, complete data entry of weekly meal orders and maintain inventory control systems. Provide customer service to centers, revenue accounts, and vendors. Responsible for center product food and non-food purchase orders. Assist with warehouse and driver duties as needed.

Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum two years’ experience in warehouse food service and driving trucks 24 ft. or more in length
Ability to work with volume foods and supplies
Demonstrated experience with inventory records, controls and food service software
Computer skills including, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn new software programs
Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals in a multi-lingual, team-oriented environment
Ability to perform multiple repetitive movements
Ability to maintain constructive relationships across departments and with internal and external customers
Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously and meet multiple ongoing deadlines with speed, competence, and accuracy
Ability to drive a commercial 2,400-pound truck
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Candidate must successfully pass the pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test and criminal background check
