INTERNSHIP – Fixed Income + Currencies (Rates Team)

SG is seeking a dynamic individual for a full-time internship at SGs Corporate & Investment Banking New York office. The candidate should be from a competitive US University/College with proven leadership skills, a passion for learning about the financial services industry and for serving institutional clients (asset managers, hedge funds, banks, insurance companies). They should be a team player with strong communication and administrative skills. The candidate will gain hands-on experience and a deep understanding of how an investment bank services and delivers the full suite of products to institutional clients working next to a seasoned team of client facing professionals.

Mission

Primary Responsibilities:
Support Teams of Fixed Income Institutional Sales and Trading in regards to servicing new and existing clients for global market-related activities, maintain a database containing the status of various clients as it pertains to the workflow of the on-boarding and coverage process and communicating across the firm (and coordinating between relevant departments), as well as identifying and executing action plans to maintaining Client Relationship Management and Product Management tools.

Assist the Team in the expansion of the Client Relationship Management tool based on the current trends in Financial Services for the front office of Fixed Income. This will include: Coverage Mapping, Data cleaning, coordinating client on boarding, training of Sales and Support with follow up and testing of enhancements working with the Paris office.

Assist the KYC/compliance process in on-boarding new clients and review existing clients to ensure compliance.

Assist the team in coordinating specific initiatives like the Key Client Program, account reviews and reports along with other business intelligence functions.

Responsible for industry analysis and business/operational development analysis.

Take charge of ad-hoc projects to improve our operations within Fixed Income.

Profile

Knowledge and skills beneficial to the position:
Basic knowledge of and the capacity to learn about the financial services industry and its workings, including general financial, regulatory and legal structures along with the operational framework

Basic knowledge of Capital Markets products and relevant courses in finance and economics.

Capacity to perform industry analysis, identify trends and their impacts on the industry

Strong computer skills including advanced Excel and data mining

Strong presentation, writing and analytical skills, proactive and detail-oriented

Strong interpersonal and management skills

Ability to speak French a plus

The ability to listen, execute and work in a fast paced and demanding environment.

**This internship is 6-12 months in duration looking for an intern to work 40-45 hours per week. Compensation is hourly based on education and experience**
