Tetra Tech ARD (www.tetratech.com/intdev) is accepting applications for a well-qualified International Development Human Resources Intern for our Human Resources team. The Intern will learn more about staffing and talent management to support new business development and program implementation, primarily for USAID-funded projects. This internship can help start a successful career in development or human resources, building skillsets, expanding networks, and providing real-world experience in this challenging but rewarding work.

This position will be based in Tetra Tech ARD’s home office in Burlington, Vermont.

This internship is paid and hours are flexible, between 24-40 per week: duration is at least three months.

and the Internship will start Monday, June 5, or Monday, June 12, 2017.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Human Resources team and processes through the full HR lifecycle for domestic opportunities, including targeted, niche recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and benefits;
  • Support Human Resources team and processes through the full HR lifecycle for international opportunities for expatriates and local staff: specialized recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and performance evaluations;
  • Support HR team on Human Resources subject-related trainings for home office staff;
  • Collaborate with HR (and Business Systems and Practices staff) to review and update the HR SharePoint site;
  • Coordinate with HR on the review of HR documents for filing, archiving or shredding; and
  • Assist HR staff with discrete tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Recently completed or in progress Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, international development, or a related field required;
  • Demonstrated understanding of, academic excellence in, and desire to pursue a career in international development, human resources, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred;
  • Understanding/knowledge of various aspects of human resources strongly desired;
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and time management skills; high standards of confidentiality;
  • Interest in international development;
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish helpful, but not required;
  • Experience in MS Office Suite required with proficiency in SharePoint desirable;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and intercultural communications skills; and
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player and self-starter, able to remain poised and focused in a fast-paced environment.
