What We Are Looking For:

Dickten Masch is a thermoplastics and thermoset molder on a strong growth track. As part of this growth, we are looking to add a dynamic individual to fill our Manufacturing Engineering Internship. This is a paid internship and full-time, 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Plastics. We are looking for someone with an upbeat personality who will enjoy supporting Manufacturing Engineering and the Tool Room. This position will be an integral member of the team reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

  • Support the implementation of the Asset Management system in IQMS:
    • Identify all auxiliary equipment with unique ID numbers
    • Enter supporting data into IQMS
    • Identify and enter correct tool information into IQMS system.
  • Support standardizing product BOMs:
    • Place required processing equipment on BOMs.
    • Eliminate AS 400 work instructions by converting to Word or determining if no longer active
    • Identify/correct BOM errors to correct standard (scrap, efficiency, regrind)
  • Work with team to establish process /system for the Story Bin and First/Last Shot bins.
  • Support tooling Preventative Maintenance.
    • Work with Tool Tech on IM Tool PM s and Changeovers

Enrichment Opportunities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of tool & die components, care and maintenance through hands on exposure in the tool room.
  • Develop an understanding of lean product manufacturing through experience on Kaizen team events, where available.
  • Develop manufacturing engineering discipline by evaluating manufacturing process inputs/outputs and supporting the implementation of standard work.
