POSITION SUMMARY

Ormat interns will be involved in many aspects of power plant operations maintenance and engineering. This is a very flexible position designed to give the intern a basic understanding of various technical aspects of the power generation industry. The intern will receive preliminary orientation and training and then assigned to a variety of support tasks at various departments as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform routine or daily tasks in support of the department they are assigned to

Perform basic technical calculations as required

Complete reports and documentation as assigned

Learn and contribute to various computer based programs

Learn basic operating principles of the department(s) they are assigned to

Actively contribute to problem solving and process improvements

Must be able to travel to various work locations and operate a motor vehicle within onsite premises

Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Other responsibilities as assigned which may include but not be limited to manual chores of the department, computer applications, light mechanical or electrical maintenance

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Must have at least 2 years of College education towards an engineering degree

Must be self-motivated

Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Ormat’s auto insurance carrier

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner

Ability to work alone or in a team

Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working, standing or sitting for several hours at a time

Occasional stair and ladder climbing, lifting up to 35 pounds, cleanup work of an industrial site utilizing shovels and brooms

Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, flame resistant clothing, dust masks and gloves)
