Amazon’s Global Inventory Planning team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and inventive leader to lead our efforts in expanding our EDI platform. We are heads down in creating new, efficient processes that help EDI vendors integrate quickly and seamlessly with Amazon. We are creating a world class experience in automating order processing, shipping, seamless integration with any order management system and file format.

Amazon’s EDI Integration team aims to automate all transactions with its global retail suppliers. The EDI integration team is the most critical role in achieving this goal by maintaining the EDI technical standards, identifying EDI solutions, Integration need to business needs and constantly improving the effectiveness of our EDI communications and integrations. The EDI Analysts partners with Amazon business teams and suppliers worldwide to identify new offerings and continuously improve the EDI integration process, current offerings and data quality. Additional tasks include maintenance of the Amazon EDI specifications, mapping and supplier configurations. To be successful, this candidate requires mastery of a variety of proven analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Core Job Responsibilities

Maintain Amazon EDI specifications, mapping, integration artifacts as well as supplier configurations

Automate all EDI transactions with upstream suppliers and downstream customers using integrations technologies.

Manage EDI projects and communicate directly with internal and external company resources.

Continuously improve our integration processes and data quality.

Drive and build creative solutions for challenging customer integration requirements.

Be responsible for documentation of business processes, system processes and information flow. Implementations of system enhancements, including capturing any gaps both technically and in the business process ensuring user acceptance, supporting end-to-end testing, problem solving and training

Conduct EDI initiatives such as integrations and EDI training for both internal and external parties, using data analysis to back up business decision, utilizing EDI function/message to drive continuous improvement and operation excellence.

Lead Kaizen activities to apply EDI and Integrations technology and exchanged information with vendor to contribute to improve operation efficiency and optimize business procedure.

Deliver timely, accurate and professional technical support and information internally and externally, include real-time support, communication, escalation, reporting, defect tracking, and root cause analysis of outage events.

Basic Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or 5+ years relevant experience. 7+ years’ experience with ANSI X12 standards, especially V4010 and above, including Order and Financial series documents such as 850, 855, 856, 810 and others.

Experience with EDI communications standards and protocols; AS2, standard VAN-based EDI, FTP, HTTPS.

Experience writing functional design documents, create/maintain EDI maps and specifications, troubleshooting complex EDI failures, working with external EDI partners, and testing interconnected systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues correctly and clearly to both internal and external customers.

Successful characteristics for the position are also the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment.

Analytical approach to problem solving and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement

Experience with rotational on-call duties and real-time live-system responsibility

Demonstrated experience with writing functional design documents, troubleshooting complex EDI failures, and with unit testing, end-end testing methods.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with at least one EDI software platform (Seeburger, Gentran, TLE, BizTalk, etc.)

Problem ticketing, incident management, and issue escalation experience

Proficiency at leveraging precious resources

History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

Demonstrated experience managing complex tasks as projects.
