Job Summary: Support practices by completing patient preregistration and verifying insurance eligibility and benefits for all pre-scheduled appointments

Essential Job Duties:
Verify insurance coverage, plan benefits, coverages, and limitations for scheduled patients

Interface with payers, patients and team members to obtain missing/invalid information

Update patient insurance profile as needed to ensure correct coverage attached to each account

Communicate changes in benefits or eligibility to practice team members

Update plan information in practice management system

Ensure insurance related tasks are performed accurately, efficiently, and timely to meet department and company goals

Function as the primary expert to explain patient insurance benefits to internal and external customers

Personal and Professional Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the Doctors and all Team Members and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors

Create an environment which promotes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and team collaboration

Assume responsibility for personal professional growth through internal and external training opportunities and continuing education offerings

Follow and demonstrate commitment to the Park Dental policies, professional expectations, and Service Excellence Standards

Serve as an example and representative of the organization by demonstrating behaviors consistent with Park Dental and The Dental Specialists Mission, Vision, and Values

Tools and Technology:
Experience using online eligibility tools and insurance company websites

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Practice Management and dental EDI experience and knowledge

Required Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Strong phone and customer service skills

Self-motivated and have the capability to work independently

Detail oriented

Organized

Ability to multi task and prioritize assignments

Education and Knowledge

Minimum high school diploma, degree preferred, Familiarity with dental terminology is preferred, Experience verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility is highly preferred.

Work schedule:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is a full-time benefits eligible position.
