Information Systems/Business Analyst II- Health Care Data Analyst

Business Healthcare Data Analyst extensively utilizes database technologies to acquire and transform the data into consistent data formats to power dashboards and reports. Works closely with the other members of the team to provide meaningful data for clinical and cost studies, quality, and process improvement initiatives. Obtains, understands and communicates reporting specifications from government agencies and other entities.

Maintains a working knowledge of relevant government and third-party health care initiatives in which the company participates participates. Provides training to staff to utilize relevant data systems.details, communication, computer proficiency and research skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to use SAS and/or SQL coding to pull claims and membership data to support involved healthcare analytics. Intermediate level role responsible for sytems analysis and design to meet project objectives.Have the ability to understand the business and health policy implications and goals of the data being presented.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Informatics, Data Management, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field is required and (4) years of technical or professional experience in a directly related field or equivalency.

Extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for programming, analysis, and extraction of healthcare data using various data extraction and mining tools, products; Competency in database architecture, healthcare claims data, and information technology is beneficial to your success in this position.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Qualifications

Four (4) years of progressive programming experience using various data extraction and mining tools/products; two 2 years experience working with healthcare data or in a healthcare environment; experience using full SQL capabilities and comprehension of efficient SQL data warehouse access; Strongly prefer an understanding of Medicaid and Medicare claims data systems;Working knowledge of IT systems, database design, or data structures;Strongly prefer knowledge of and experience with health care data subject area industry code sets, e.g., (RXNORM, LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10).
