Information Systems Analyst I

Under supervision applies basic IT professional concepts, department / unit and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve routine issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

Oversee day to day operation of Division Website. Implement static and dynamic web pages using HTML, CSS, and scripts, both directly and via the campus CMS. Coordinate communication between stakeholders (including Division and Section management, faculty, staff and students) and technical staff supporting web related projects. Coordinate content authors and other sources of content.

Perform basic programming tasks in a wide variety of areas including server side (Java, JSP, Servlets) and client side (HTML, Javascript, etc). To include basic design, development, modification and debugging of software and scripts. Such tasks are generally in support of administrative applications and databases.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of several areas of IT .
  • Knowledge relating to the design and development of software .
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Understanding of programming languages including Java and JavaScrip.

  • Understanding of website layout and design principals. Understanding of basic web usability principals.

  • Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot basic problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Basic understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
  • Basic understanding of data management operations and database administration.
  • Basic knowledge of computer security best practices and policies. Ability to put knowledge into practice.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of higher education business, research and education environment, especially as it applies to use of information technology to achieve administrative goals of the institution.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis techniques such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge relating to the design development, modification and implementation of software including object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to work with all levels of a complex organization from upper management (Deans, Chairs, senior faculty) to junior staff and students.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including proofreading and composition skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with version control (git preferred)
