The Healthcare-Associated Infection & Antimicrobial Resistance (HCAI & AMR) Department is the national centre for surveillance of HCAI & AMR in England. HCAI & AMR is a multi-disciplinary Department of scientists, medical and nursing staff and administrative personnel, established to develop and implement many new initiatives in this high-profile field.

The Surgical Site Infections Surveillance Service (SSISS) was established in 1997. The scheme enables hospitals to use surveillance to improve the quality of patient care by enabling them to collect and analyse data on Surgical Site Infections (SSI) using standardised methods. It provides national data that can be used as a benchmark allowing individual hospitals to compare their rates of SSI with collective data from all hospitals participating in the service. The postholder’s primary responsibility is to provide efficient administration of SSISS by ensuring the quality of data validation, reconciliation and timely production of quarterly reports for participating hospitals.

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate experience of data management and MS packages. Candidates will need good attention to detail, organizational skills and an ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
