Information Administrator

Johnson County Public Works is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of PWK Information Administrator. This position will be responsible for management of the PWK road and bridge asset management system that tracks the costs and time for material, labor, and equipment needed to maintain the County’s road and bridge infrastructure. Responsibilities require the successful candidate to be a self-starter that can work both independently and on team based assignments. Job duties may include the following tasks in association with road and bridge construction and maintenance:

• Manage and enhance data collection, acquisition and management applications/systems such as the Lucity Asset Management system.
• Assist with development of the annual and five-year CIP road maintenance budgets and work plans.
• Work with and coordinate with the Public Works IT department on programming, web authoring, database design, Location Technologies Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) system support as well as overall computer systems support for the department.

Job Requirements

An Associate’s degree in database design/management, engineering, or information technology is required along with two years of IT experience developing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is also required.

Two years construction experience is preferred.

Experience may be substituted for education.
