Industrial Engineer Intern

The Industrial Engineering internship is a paid position and will support our manufacturing efforts in Tulsa, OK. The intern will work on department projects, supporting the various employees; honing skills in his/her respective area to expand knowledge and gain valuable on-the-job training. The intern will also work to become knowledgeable with industry specific products and practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in updating and maintaining new product timelines, routing sequences, machining or assembly tool selection, tooling identification, and efficiency factors

Assist in reviewing current product design and processes and recommend changes that will facilitate product manufacturing or reduce costs

Work with teams to mistake proof methods and processes

Collect and analyze data for statistical process control

Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodology

Conduct time and work balance studies

Conduct capability studies

Participate in Design for Manufacturing efforts

Execute action items from FMEAs for machining or assembly operations

Assist in the updating, testing and writing of ISO 9001 work instructions and create/update visuals

Document new processes and create work instructions

Education:
Pursuing an Engineering Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or other applicable engineering field

Completed a minimum of 28 credit hours towards a Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum GPA of 3.25

Experience and Skills:
Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing processes

Knowledge of SolidWorks

Knowledge of CNC machining processes are beneficial

Computer literate; experience in MS Office (Word, Excel) is a must; Access and Power Point are beneficial

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities

Good listener; able to appropriately and accurately act upon given directions

Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and push work thru

Must be flexible to adapt to continuous change

Flexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments

Some hands on and lifting of products will be required
