Indirect Loan Officer Team Lead

SUMMARY:

The Indirect Lending Team Lead supports the Consumer Sales Manager by assisting in the day-to-day direction of Indirect Lending staff and their key functions. Assists Indirect Loan Officers by collaborating on complex transactions; coaching on effective communication; production primary production strategies; and maintain exceptional quality and service standards. Acts as the primary Indirect lending representative for select Dealers in Indirect Lending. This role includes but is not limited to answering general questions, pre-qualification, new loan origination and administrative support.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Sales Manager in leading, directing and motivating the sales team in order to achieve the overall corporate sales objectives.
  • Assist in the collection and assessment of data required to manage the lending center queues and sales pipeline.
  • Serve as coach for Indirect sales staff (beyond formal training) to develop primary sales discipline in managing Dealer relationships and in effective identification of Cross Sell opportunities with members.
  • Work as a primary liaison with Loan Processors and Underwriters to build teamwork through communication.
  • Develop and lead Indirect Lending external sales activities related promotional events, conferences, etc.
  • Proactively solicit Indirect Lending referrals from assigned external sources (Dealers and intermediaries).
  • Originate select applications as the senior Indirect Loan representative with an emphasis on developing cross-sell opportunities for other CU lending and depository products.
  • Present peers in other Lending Sales and Deposit departments with referrals when possible.
  • Act as subject matter expert for new and existing Dealer relationships.
  • Respond to Dealer and member inquiries and provide consultative services.
  • Take complete applications only.
  • Meet all loan production, service, and quality goals through proactive and responsive pipeline management activities.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of current trends, compliance requirements, and other industry changes.


EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Indirect and/or Consumer lending.
  • Most recent 2 – 5 years of production must include experience with direct sales to Dealers, other intermediaries, and/or 5+ years to Consumers while under specific production goals.
  • Must have and be eligible to maintain an active NMLS License Number.OTHER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have documented current referral sources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in applying credit risk principles to lending recommendations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services related products and overall financial services operations.
  • Fluent in English/Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table. Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required.
