IMS DB/DC Software Programmer

We are seeking a IMS DB/DC Systems Software Programmer for approximately 40-50 hours a week long term contract.

Roles:

• Install, Implement, configure, and maintain IMS/TM, IMS/DB, and related ISV software.

• Configure APPC to support IMS LU 6.2 applications.

• Configure and enable TCP/IP clients to exploit the IMS Soap Gateway.

• Maintain IMS and ISV software utilizing SMP/E.

• Analyze performance bottlenecks and tune IMS accordingly and work with others to resolve non IMS related bottlenecks.

• Maintain IBM IMS and IMS related software exits.

• Evaluate application designs for IMS TM/DB systems including forecasting of new application or existing application modification impacts on existing environments.

• Provide assistance in the maintenance and preparation of project plans for testing and implementing system and ISV software.

• Develop and maintain documentation relevant to IMS environment including operational procedures, problem determination and problem resolution.

• Provide assistance application staff debugging COBOL programs written to exploit IMS.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and use of IBM JCL.

• Proficiency with the knowledge and use of monitors and trace facilities. Required / Desired Skills

• Expert experience as an IMS systems programmer in a z/OS environment. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert experience as an IMS systems programmer recovering an IMS region in a z/OS sysplex mainframe environment during a disaster recovery exercise at a hot site environment. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience with SMP/E. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting IBM IMS and IMS Connect, Soap Gateway, ETO, WODM, ODBM CSL and Guardium for IMS. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting APPC connections. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting FileAid/IMS. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting BMC products including: Mainview for IMS, Mainview AutoOperator, Database Integrity, Data Packer IMS Message Advisor for IMS, MAXIM Reorg Solutions for IMS, Backup and Recovery Solutions for IMS, Application Restart Control, Local Copy Plus, Delta/IMS, Energizer, and Log Analyzer. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting IWAY JAM. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting Compuware Expediter for IMS, Strobe and iStrobe. (Required 5 Years)
  

• Expert knowledge and experience supporting CA TELON. (Required 5 Years)
