Identity Management Systems Developer

The Identity Management Systems Developer is responsible for maintaining the daily operation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and processes, with limited supervision. The Identity Management Systems Developer has knowledge in one or more of our core competencies:
1. Authentication and Authorization technologies, such as SAML/CAS/OIDC; Kerberos; Grouper; RADIUS; the CIFER reference architecture.
2. Data storage and aggregation technologies, such as OpenLDAP; AD; PostgreSQL; MySQL; Oracle and in particular The Banner ERP system.
3. IAM full-stack development and deployment, primarily in NodeJS or Perl, in a microservice or containerized environment.
The Identity Management Systems Developer must have strong communications skills.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of directly related experience in an application development or identity management position. Experience must include a working knowledge of interaction with identity and access management systems (LDAP, enterprise registries, etc.). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a Unix SSH command line environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of at least one of the following: Authentication and Authorization technologies, Data storage and aggregation technologies, IAM full-stack development and deployment, primarily in NodeJS or Perl.
  • Ability to adapt to change, solve problems creatively, and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies – this role requires a problem solver with a motivated personality.
  • Understanding of the concept of infrastructure-as-code.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Preferred:

  • Prior administration of Shibboleth/SAML and/or TLS infrastructures.
  • Programming experience in a variety of languages.
  • This position requires a background check
