What does an exceptional Software Developer do?

We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our Bank Solutions division. You will be part of a team of dynamic professionals working on a high-profile product development assignment. This involves the most advance concepts of software development for core banking applications such as open banking and microservices. You will be involved in all steps of the ongoing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including but not limited to; planning, requirements analysis, coding, unit testing and issue management. You will participate in new product developments as well as adaption activities on existing software. This is a growing team responsible for customizing and implementing sophisticated enterprise banking software in a fast-paced result-oriented environment.


As a Software Developer, you can look forward to:

  • Developing and testing intricate technical solutions that support Bank Solutions’ product strategies. and address the market needs of Fiserv clients and their customers.

  • Analyzing technical and business procedures to craft detailed requirements from which programs and fixes will be written.

  • Designing, developing code, testing, debugging, maintaining, modify and installing computer software programs.

  • Writing well-abstracted, reusable code for back-end and UI components.

  • Collaborating concept with other developers, architects, QA, system engineers and product management in solving new and existing technical issues.

  • Understanding requirements, implement designs, and provide documentation for specific projects

  • Implementing new releases of Fiserv applications as well as maintain existing releases.

  • Assessing requirements and estimate time and resources to build solutions.

  • Analyzing specifications for application enhancements for compatibility with other systems and within operating guidelines.

  • Analyzing dumps, debug problems and apply fix procedures.

  • Recommending changes in procedures and software development activities and provide solutions for improvement.

  • Preparing documentation for use by computer operations, applications programming and end users

  • Following and enhancing existing development processes while adhering to existing software development standards.

  • Appling time management skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritize successfully and adapt to quickly changing priorities.

  • Utilizing understanding of software development and chip in when required to design and analyze solutions

  • Retaining ownership of the projects assigned and able to create system level documentation.

  • Providing and maintain quality software against plans and schedules that are being met consistently.

  • Handling new development, as well as maintenance of existing programs.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • 6+ years of Previous experience in I-Series, RPG, AS400 development

  • IBM iSeries Programming with RPGLE, CLLE, Free Format RPG, DB2, SQL, and IBM RDi

  • Experience with embedded SQL statements in RPGIV or RPGILE

  • Experience in analysis, design, coding, unit testing and effort estimations

  • Knowledge of end-to-end system lifecycle development methodologies

  • Experience working on a fast paced, collaborative team using Agile methodology


  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Rational Developer for IBM iSeries.

  • Experience in SQL including embedded SQL in RPGLE programs, DDL structure, and Index structures

  • Exposure developing in distribute, service oriented, microservices-style and cloud-based application architectures and environments.

  • Familiar with Agile Sprints, Delivery Framework, and SDLC best practices.

  • Related banking industry experience in platforms, banking applications, or online financial solutions.

  • Experience working in and with global professional service team environments.
