Human Resources Generalist

M&K Truck Centers is a multi-state leader in commercial truck sales, leasing, parts and service with more than 600 employees. The HR Generalist will support directors and managers at M&K locations in Michigan and Indiana. The HR Generalist performs many day-to-day functions of the HR Department including orientation, benefits, training, discipline, research and recordkeeping functions.

JOB DUTIES:

• Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive information.
• Assists with onboarding and orientation of new hires.
• Maintains and secures employee files.
• Notifies payroll and accounting of status changes.
• Assists other HR staff by gathering documents for discipline or terminations.
• Ensures mailing of COBRA and other post-termination notices.
• Gathers preliminary information and documents relating to accidents or injuries.
• Develops and presents issue-specific training modules or workshops.
• Collects and files information as required for employee benefits; responds to questions about benefits.
• Creates and files reports as needed.
• Understands, keeps current on, and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting employment and benefits.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Travel will range from 10% to 40%.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of human resources generalist experience.
