Human Resources Business Partner – Sierra Trading Post

The planned growth of TJX has created an opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner. This position supports Sierra Trading Post, an off-price, multi-channel retailer of brand name active and outdoor apparel, footwear and gear. STP is part of the TJX family of companies, and currently operates stores in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Vermont, Minnesota, Washington, Utah, Connecticut and Wyoming.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes;

Supports line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy;

Implements appropriate employee training and manages its delivery;

Facilitates long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda;

Helps the business unit leader to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards;

Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes;

Provides expert advice and coaching to employees when appropriate;

Reviews and benchmarks the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives;

Identifies and drives the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement;

Acts as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs;

Identifies new opportunities where HR can add value to the business;

Maintains a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends;

Manages and/or supports specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participates in functional and cross-functional initiatives.

Ability to develop and deliver relevant, effective training programs to targeted audiences;

Ability to engage, inspire and influence people;

Effective team player;

Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills;

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of experience as an HRBP or HR Generalist;

Some experience managing people;

Experience managing an office and/or improving administrative systems;

Understanding of employment law;

HR certification recommended.
