We’re looking for an HR lead for our Africa Middle East.

You will be responsible for providing HR business partnership to the AME Senior Leadership team on all regionally relevant business and HR strategies and plans, as well as developing and implementing strategic AME HR initiatives and programmes in support of strategic business goals within a regional and complex client group.

You Will Be Part of a Growing Team

You will partner with HR colleagues and stakeholders from other countries, legal entities, centers of expertise, shared service centers and core process groups to manage delivery of human resource services that are critical to achieving business goals and business plan outcomes.

You will Ensure implementation and effective delivery of all standardized global strategies, functionality of HR operating models and compliance to local laws.

Your Challenge:

  • Develops the strategic direction of the AME HR function, ensuring full alignment with global strategies.
  • Acts as trusted advisor to the senior AME leadership team and contributes to shaping the business direction, strategies and goals, aligning the regional HR strategies to form a critical part of and to deliver success within such business strategies and goals.
  • Oversees executive and leadership development, strategic workforce planning and staffing initiatives, talent management and retention.
  • Designs and activates a distinct leadership brand to develop leadership behaviours that support our cultural transformation and leadership development acceleration.
  • Leads succession planning topics, shaping and facilitating effective implementation of the organisational people agenda to ensure business success.
  • Delivers new leader on-boarding and ongoing coaching.
  • Supports strategic expansion into Africa and Middle East by securing top talent in the right place at the right time.
  • Develops and implements the talent management and retention strategy and plans to acquire, develop and retain the capabilities we need for the success of the future Corteva®, including identification of talent development programmes for readiness of our high potentials.
  • Manages graduate, learnerships and apprenticeships programmes with the aim to find and secure future talent.
  • Drives organisational development to align strategy, design and structure, and the business culture with a focus on driving a high-performance culture across the region.
  • Develops harmonized HR processes and formal procedures across Africa and Middle East, aligned to Global policies.
  • Ensures governance and compliance to local labour law as well as global organisational policies and procedures, including a harmonised disciplinary procedure.
  • Advises on and drives recognition and rewards programmes together with robust performance management programmes.
  • Contributes to benchmarking of total compensation and remuneration against similar roles and grades within the industry, working collaboratively with the global rewards team.
  • Implements and facilitates AME organisational change, organisational design projects and organisational change efforts; driving commercial effectiveness within the business.
  • Manages implementation and optimization of regional HR operating systems.
  • Manages employee and union relations.
  • Manages and delivers all HR related financial and non-financial reporting.
  • Defines metrics and reporting methods for measuring effectiveness of local HR programmes in driving organisational performance and containing costs.
  • Manages and controls expenditures within operating budget.
  • Coordinates activities and services with external vendors for contracted services and administers programme budgets and contracts.
  • Participates in business compliance audits and ethics investigations to maintain the expected standards of the organisation.
  • Oversees compliance to B-BBEE codes (South Africa), localisation and local content requirements (Rest of Africa and ME) and organisational gender diversity goal achievement – setting and implementation of EE targets.
  • Ensures full compliance to changing employment laws.
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of contemporary HR management theory and methods, and provides suitable interpretation to managers, local HR team and employees within the organization.
  • Enables the local HR Community to engage and equip the business to lead, support and effect sustainable change.

    Qualifications

    To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • University degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, organizational development, business administration or psychology. Human Resources certification preferred. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years HR generalist and business partnership experience engaging with senior business leaders and coaching people leaders and employees in all aspects of HR required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior management position required.
  • Previous experience of the South African market is essential and broader experience across the entire Africa and Middle Eastern markets is be preferred.
  • Experience in large HR integration, optimization and implementation projects related to mergers and acquisitions preferred.
  • Previous experience of working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders within HR as well as within the internal client groups is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with proven efficient project management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to drive local HR agenda, manage own workloads, whilst working collaboratively with others within and outside of the immediate region.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, unlock potential and drive productivity within teams.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication skills including presentation skills to large audiences.
