Job Summary

Position Summary:
Pentair is currently seeking a HR Generalist to to staff hourly production positions and to manage, administer and implement HR policies, procedures, programs and documentation. In this role, the HR Generalist will participate in employee relations management and the termination process. Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!

Job Requirements & Skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for hourly employee recruitment process, which includes; partnering with Operations Leaders to identify available openings, posting open positions on job boards, reviewing applicants, scheduling and participating in interviews, preparing offers, and scheduling pre-employment testing.

Maintain leave management records and provide assistance to employees (FMLA and Short Term /Long Term Disability).

Conduct new employee orientation and prepare materials for this event.

Assist with time and attendance – setting up time clock badges, record management in time and attendance system (Kronos), tracking of employees on a leave of absence.

Provide assistance to employees on HR related questions and concerns.

Maintains personnel files for both active and terminated employees.

Prepare and run reports in HRIS (PeopleSoft).

Administer employee referral bonuses, service awards, education assistance programs, reimbursements, and other HR related programs.

Manage one time earnings (OTE) and one time deductions (OTD) spreadsheets.

Update organizational charts and spreadsheets for operations level site management.

Maintain turnover records; update statistics on an ongoing basis.

Front-office responsibilities and assistance with onsite events.

Partner with temporary agency recruitment activities.

Help employees with benefit related questions and facilitate open enrollment meetings.

Support the internship program.

Process unemployment claims.

Support Affirmative Action Planning.

Support SBU wide HR projects/initiatives.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Required

Three (3) plus years of human resources experience

Acts with integrity and uses sound judgement

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)

Possess strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work

Knowledge and experience coordinating, troubleshooting, and responding to customer service requests

Ability to contribute as a team player in a respectful and professional environment

Process oriented, highly accurate and attentive to detail

Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively in individual or group settings

Experience with time and attendance system (Kronos) is a plus

Solve practical problems and implement solutions

Manage through conflict with diplomacy and tact

Additional Information

Travel

This positon will have very limited travel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently sits, works on a computer and speaks on the phone. The employee occasionally stands and walks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Stress created with volume of work and time constraints necessary to complete. Work environment is an office attached to manufacturing plant with machine noise and lift truck traffic. Temperatures in plant vary by season.
