HR and Culture Manager – Part Time

Together We Rise is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our vision is to improve the lives of foster children in America, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public.

We are seeking an individual who is interested in growing within our organization, supports our mission, has excellent technical writing skills, very detail-oriented, and has the ability to work effectively with a team and individually. This person will help us cultivate staff relationships and internal processes so we can continue to grow and help more kids!

TIME COMMITMENT

  • Part-time – 20-35 hours per week distributed through the TWR normal work week
  • TWR Regular Office Hours:
  • Monday-Tuesday: 9 am – 5:30 PM PST
  • Wednesday-Friday: 6 am – 2:30 PM PST

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Human Resources strategies aligned with organizational direction/objectives and values.
  • Manage and maintain Together We Rise personnel files.
  • Responsible for benefits strategy and administration.
  • Manage and facilitate new staff onboarding procedures
  • Prioritization of matters and tasks, effectively communicating updates to appropriate parties and soliciting assistance where needed.
  • Maintain and keep Together We Rise policies and procedures up to date and known by staff.
  • Incorporate team building activities into work schedules to improve employee morale and team bonding
  • Stay up-to-date with current HR laws and ethics – update as changes occur
  • Counsel and mentor management team on employee relation matters.
  • Conducts investigations and implements proper remedial action in response to staff and management behavior
  • Facilitates internal meetings, trainings, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff and educating all employees on important topics.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Responsible for employee relations, planning and firm development.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Human Resources and recruiting (2-3 years minimum)
  • Employee Training & Development Experience
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – ability to use this to build rapport with all employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Competencies: Communication, Critical Evaluation, Relationship Management, Ethical Practice
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Accuracy and speed using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Drive/Docs/Sheets.
