Job Description:
Harris is currently seeking a HPC (High-Performance Computing) Systems Administrator to support our IC customer in Salt Lake City, UT.

The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting, and administering multi-vendor servers.

The team needs to be responsive to users having problems, while this is typical for any System Administrator, our team works directly with the vendors of our gear. We have weekly interaction with them to track and address user problems that we have identified with their software stack, hardware problems, or seeking when future upgrades will contain fixes to issues we are tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10 + years’ experience in system administration and support of large client-server based IT enterprise
  • 10 + years’ Installation, configuration, and networking of LINUX based platforms
  • 8 + years’ Creating, modifying and deleting user accounts
  • 8 + years’ Performing system back-ups
  • 10 + years’ Maintaining system configuration files
  • 8 + years in problem solving SLURM configuration and queue problems
  • 8 + years with RHEL 7 and the replacement system
  • 10 + years in InfiniBand if or be aware of new network technologies such as newer Ethernet speeds
  • 8 + years in Nagios for operational monitoring and Ganglia for data monitoring
  • 6 + years in writing system scripts, i.e. bash, perl, python, for monitoring operations and data gathering on the system
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Multi-vendor servers running COTS, open source, in-house applications
  • Multi-vendor servers running Redhat or SuSe with direct attached FC SAN storage or SSDs
  • Distributed computing tools such as RES, LSF and SLURM
  • HPC farm systems, HPC MPP clustered systems, Front End servers of Special Purpose Devices (SPDs)
  • IBM or HP Blade servers with FC/SAS/Network back end
  • Multi-vendor file systems such as XFS, GPFS and Lustre
  • Pre-factory testing, Factory testing, System integration & acceptance testing of HPC systems

This position requires the candidate to already possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and to maintain the clearance.
