The Best Western Seabrook Suites – is looking for a highly motivated General Manager ready for a challenge in hospitality. We are searching for a General Manager who has the skills needed to transform an organization through strong leadership and strategic revenue management with a very strong sales emphasis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures compliance with management company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates.

Delivers outstanding guest service and financial performance

Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees; supervises work activities of all employees

Ensure staff receives proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures

Monitors cost controls for each department on a regular basis

Performs duties of a Sales and Marketing manager including making sales calls; attending community business functions; working with travel agents, direct bill accounts; and coordinate sales promotions

Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance

Answers patrons’ complaints and resolves problems to maintain Guest Satisfaction

Handles and resolves employee issues

Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures

Ensures employee paperwork, work schedules and payroll are completed and submitted in a timely manner

Audits daily reports and processes monthly reports

Monitor and analyze trends so we are always prepared and proactive to changes rather than re-active. Know your competitors business and ensure hotel is receiving its fair share of business and knowledge of STAR Reports

Order supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance with company procedures

Must be in close proximity to property, so you are available to manage hotel situations/emergencies

Will work with Regional Operations Manager & VP of Sales and Marketing to increase revenues and profit for the owner. Must have knowledge of P&L & budgets and complete Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports for owners and Management Company.

Develop new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market (door to door sales). The solicitation of new and saturation of existing business should be through a combination of in-house appointments, telephone, and personal calls as outlined by the Marketing Plan and Budget.

Entertain and maintain close relations with the major accounts tourism and business associations, and community leaders to develop positive rapport and ensure repeat business. This can be done by direct sales, tours, telephone calls, correspondence and entertainment. Keep close ties with our competitive set in order to maintain proper positioning and awareness, as well as to enhance referral opportunities and network with current contacts to uncover other potential decision makers or influencers

Required Skills and Experience

A minimum of 2 years experience as a hotel General Manager.

Ideal candidate will have a sound background in sales, operations, yield management, financial reporting and delegation.
