HBO Procurement Specialist

OVERALL SUMMARY:

Strategic Procurement department is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to develop customized strategies for sourcing opportunities on a national level (LA, New York and Seattle). This individual will be accountable for the project from beginning to end (e.g. Project kickoff to Purchase Order Creation).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as sourcing subject matter expert for various categories including but not limited to Corporate Goods and Services, Facilities.
• Enforces the procurement policy
• Reviews buying patterns and identifies opportunities for improvements in procurement process; as well recommends sourcing initiative based on those patterns.
• Serves as primary sourcing lead for assigned category and must demonstrate a complete understanding of sourcing principles
• Develops customized strategy for sourcing opportunities (e.g. appropriate level of engagement – strategic negotiation, RFx, reverse auction, etc.) and is accountable for entire project.
• Leads in collaboration with the subject matter expert the creation and execution of the RFX strategy; influences stakeholder groups RFx process
• Primary contact for all RFx participants, suppliers
• Procurement lead on all meetings with stakeholders and suppliers
• Leads the contract negotiation in collaboration with the project team
• Support the Strategic Procurement team to provide coverage, as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience performing buyer duties including sourcing.
• Requires demonstrated project management skills across multiple departments with successful results.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (advanced skill set), MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
• Candidate must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
• Candidate must be a team player and able to work with a strong sense of urgency.
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Experience using Oracle preferred.
