Guest Services Associate

SUMMARY

The Guest Services Associate provides safe, dependable and courteous patient transportation services for all admissions, discharges, transfers and morgues for Grady Health System. Patient transporting services will include Emergency Room, Patient Care Areas/Units, Ancillary Departments and Clinics. Must transport equipment and all documents relating to patient care/transport. Must maintain and be responsible for all Departmental equipment (i.e. pagers, radios, wheelchairs, stretchers, transcarts, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED required

Previous training accepted but not required and will be provided in patient handling, movement and body lifting techniques, Joint Commission requirements, OSHA regulations, Universal Precautions, CPR, and Death and Dying

Must be well instructed on the maintenance and cleaning of transport equipment

Must maintain close communication with Guest Services Coordinator/Dispatcher

Must be physically capable of constant walking and lifting of heavy patients and/or equipment

Must have the ability to meet pick-up and delivery schedules of all transport assignments

Must be courteous and professional at all times with Patients, Visitors, Hospital Personnel and Volunteer Staff
