Graphic Designer

The Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer to plan, edit, and produce digital and print content to be used in medical education courses delivered both face-to-face and online. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Director of Instructional Design, Digital Media Specialists, and faculty to create new instructional materials. Additionally, the successful candidate should actively embrace challenges, thrive on solving tough problems, demonstrate passion about digital education and how it impacts the future of higher education, and enjoy working within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conceptualize, design, and execute creative solutions from concept to production for educational collateral in-line with team, project, school, and university objectives. Collaborate with faculty and design teams to identify opportunities to create new content in support of medical education objectives and initiatives. Manage a multitude of graphic design projects from start to finish. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong design, typography, and layout skills; portfolio required. Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite programs. Strong organizational, problem solving and decision making abilities both independently or collaboratively. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within deadlines and competing priorities with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work well in a diverse and collaborative environment. Understanding of medical education concepts is a plus but not required.

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Education in graphic or industrial design. Work experience as a graphic designer covering all aspects of artwork preparation and printing. Requires thorough knowledge of typography, printing processes, selection of paper or other printing surface and paper folding, binding and finishing.
