In addition, we are proud to produce private-label products tailored to our customers’ individual needs. Our customers include Macys, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dillards and JC Penny. In support of our continuing business growth, we will are looking for a Graphic Designer who will be based at our corporate headquarters in Waterford, NY.

JOB SUMMARY : Soft-Tex® is currently seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to assist the Graphic Design Manager and marketing team in creating visual concepts and maintenance of packaging designs, advertising, public relations materials, sales presentations and web/media design.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : This list of essential job functions is not

• Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for print and web design.
• Present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues.
• Work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

• Projects will include packaging design, brochures, advertisements and video, along with other marketing tools, all held to highest aesthetic standards and branding guidelines.
• Pre-flight and pre-press preparation of art files for production.
• Completing image requests by reformatting graphics into varied specifications across multi-media platforms.
• Assist in the photo shoot process. Staging the shoot, styling props and otherwise assisting to implement the photo shoot.
• Help maintain and update company websites.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP* : Works with the sales and marketing department, reporting to the Graphic Design Manager.*

QUALIFICATIONS* : *

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Electronic Media Arts or related field.

• 1+ years professional experience in graphic design.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud including: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator on MAC OS; Back-end coding and/or Animation experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Solid understanding of color, composition, typography and design.
• Understanding and ability to convert images to various standards.
• Pre-flight/pre-press knowledge to international standards.
• Ability to take direction and visualize projects from draft to completion.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects at once, while maintaining organization.
• Must have outstanding visual, verbal, written and communication skills.
• Experience with retail packaging a plus.
• Experience with photography and photo shoots a plus.
• Experience in consumer products industry specializing in basic bedding, home accessory and/or mattress industry a plus.
