Job Description

The Graphic Designer creates news graphics and animations for WGCL-TV newscasts. This position assists other designers with various special projects as assigned, including animations, print, on-air or web design work for news, programming, creative services, production or sales.

The Graphic Designer creates news graphics for WGCL-TV newscasts. This position assists other designers with various special projects as assigned, including; print, on-air or web design work for news, programming, creative services, production or sales.

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

60% Supports news product with animations and graphics that are creative, accurate and meet deadlines.

30% Supports Creative Services, Production and Sales with graphic production.

10% Fills in for other designers for vacation and or sick-time as assigned.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education : Completion of high school or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred.

Experience : Three to four years experience as a TV graphic artist desired.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Ability to communicate effectively, handle extreme deadlines and changing priorities.

Proficiency with the following Adobe applications: After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator. Experience with Cinema 4D, Curious Maps and Chyron Lyric Pro.
