Global Staff Accountant

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Position will perform accounting tasks related to Labor & Benefits accounting.
  • Position will coordinate with Team Member Services to ensure payroll interface is completed successfully each pay period, to include the correction of any payroll exceptions.
  • Position will coordinate with Benefits Team to ensure proper accounting for health insurance and other benefit programs.
  • Create journal entries for close, for allocations and for GL correction.
  • Complete various accruals to include payroll cash and 401k match.
  • Assist in the close process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and completion of relevant accounts, both expense and balance sheet.
  • Perform fiscal period reconciliations.
  • Participate in the review and analysis of the relevant financial information and provide appropriate communication to the regions and business partners as needed.
  • Provide strong customer service to our regional and global business partners.
  • Prepare schedules for internal and external auditors.
  • Respond to inquiries and ad hoc analysis.
  • Provide business partners with various reporting needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must Have/Be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience in accounting.
  • Solid knowledge base of accounting policies, best practices and principles, including GAAP.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize, multitask and adhere to deadlines.
  • Developed analytical skills and careful attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to question information received for appropriateness and completeness.
  • Ability to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze financial reports.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in various situations involving internal and external customers (Team Members, Team Leaders, Store/Facility Leadership, Regional Leadership, Global Leadership, outside parties).
  • Ability to use Excel at an intermediate level including vlookups, pivots and macros, etc.
  • Experience with an ERP system.
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.
  • Genuine team player mindset with a sense of humor and patience.
  • Strong business and reporting ethics.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members to ensure completion of projects.
  • Ability to effectively manage change and thrive in an evolving organizational structure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
