Job Description:

This Geospatial Software Engineer position provides website and applications development and maintenance support for the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) located on MacDill AFB.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, and also in a collaborative environment supporting new code development and implementations, updates, troubleshooting and bug fixing.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years’ experience as a .NET developer

• A working knowledge of the following technologies: ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS (Arc Objects), ArcGIS, JavaScript API, .NET, C#, SQL, MS Entity Framework, IIS, Apache (Xampp), ASP.NET, CSS, JavaScript, SOA Architecture, & Dojo

• CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II or above compliance (GSEC, SSCP, GCIH, CISA, CISSP, GCED)

• Travel – Less than 10% for training and conferences

• Ability to model/design and maintain Relational Databases.

• Knowledge and experience using third-party SDK’s.

• Experience working in small teams as well as independently

• Ability to scope large elements of projects and calculate estimated delivery

• Experience communicating pros and cons of alternative solutions to customers; avoiding unnecessary complexity; suggesting creative, breakthrough approaches.

• Ability to learn, diagnose and implement features and bug fixes

• Ability to coordinate with tech leads and software engineers working on related deliverables

• Experience with coding patterns and best practices

• Skills with debugging techniques and ability to find root causes of mysterious problems

• Ability to solve difficult problems

• Ability to communicate ideas and develop strategy through presentations, demonstrations and specifications

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and assignments and meet deadlines

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Application Development or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of professional training or work experience (7 years as a .NET programmer).
