Who You Are and What You’ll Do

You know the full stack inside and out – probably better than the back of your hand. You might fancy yourself a polyglot, even; picking up new programming languages is no challenge for you. Self-starting is how you roll; each day, you can motivate yourself to tackle what needs to get done. In the past, you may have focused your talents on front-end development, or zeroed in on back-end development. Either way, you’ve been elbows deep in developing for a while – and you’re looking for an exciting new role to enhance your skillset.

At Bishop Fox, you will be a cornerstone of our newly formed engineering department. Our entire firm is taking off, and as a result, our needs have taken off, too. You will have the chance to mold this entire department – essentially, you’ll be building something from scratch. Flexibility will be an asset to you in this role, as will some amount of creativity; you will need to think on your feet quite often. Each day will bring about with it diversity. You’ll be hunkering down in GitHub, building angular/react web applications. Some days, you’ll be building API servers. Most importantly, you’ll look at what we’re doing and fill in the gaps where we might be missing a crucial thing or two. Furthermore, you’re more than capable of knocking out things quickly as well – and not sacrificing quality in the process.

Your Experience

The following is a list of skills you will have in your repertoire. If you have most of these, we’d like to speak to you.

• Experience in object-oriented languages
• Golang would be a plus
• Average or above average ability with HTML or JavaScript
• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, mssql)
• Previous experience in developing or software engineering
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
• Interest in or experience with machine learning is a huge plus
• An interest in cybersecurity would be ideal
• A degree is nice to have, but by no means a necessity
• Emotional intelligence + ego-less intelligence
• Flexibility; you adapt to dynamic environments well
• Autonomy – you work well on your own
• Demonstrable proof of your work (a GitHub or GitLab link, a portfolio, or other selected samples)

This position will be mostly remote, but will require some meetings in or near North Atlanta. Our newly formed engineering department is based out of Atlanta.
