Frontend Engineer

Skilljar is seeking a versatile Web Developer to join our fast-growing team. This person will be responsible for the front-end design and development of Skilljar’s online training platform, content management dashboard, and our marketing website (Skilljar.com).

We’re looking for someone with a successful track record as a front-end developer in an agile release environment. In addition, you will be joining a small and rapidly growing team, where you will have direct input into the product.

You must be very comfortable wearing multiple hats in a highly ambiguous environment, building and iterating on processes on the fly, and working closely with cross-functional teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and focused individual to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly accelerating startup that has already delighted dozens of Fortune 1000 and mid-market clients.

Requirements

• 3+ years as a web developer using Rails, Django, or some equivalent framework. Deep knowledge of best practices with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and web development frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation).
• Strong intuition for customer-focused, mobile-responsive UI/UX. Ability to wireframe and provide input on usability.
• Laser focused on delivering high quality features, with excellent judgment on balancing time-to-market and scalability.
• Experience with building service-oriented backends & APIs is a major plus.
• Knowledgeable on best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Highly self-directed and comfortable in a small, unstructured environment with ambiguous and rapidly changing requirements and designs.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
• US work authorization and criminal background check are required.
