Front End Web Developer

FOUNDED in 2003, Carrington has evolved from a mortgage credit asset manager into a vertically-integrated financial services company that covers virtually every aspect of the single family residential real estate transaction, including investment in U.S. real estate and mortgage markets, loan origination and servicing, asset management and property preservation, real estate sales and rental and title and escrow services.
We are currently looking for a Front End Web Developer to join our growing team in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with management, end-users and IT peers to design, maintain, document, and administer new web application interface.
• Create innovative design (look and layout) for new websites and develop new user-facing features.
• Collaborate with web developers to implement web application features.
• Follow Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) procedures and coordinate production releases.
• Design, optimize, maintain and support websites using tools such as HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, Adobe Photoshop, Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Design practical creative solutions that meet or exceed strategic business objectives.
• Create interactive design concepts, interactive page layouts, site grids and interface demos.
• Rapidly design, prototype and iterate on creative concepts to meet the user requirements.
• Translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will product visual elements of the application.
• Collaborate with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, focusing on look and layout as well as functionality.
• Assist with integration architecture and support the design and maintenance of internally developed websites.
• Perform peer-to-peer code review and coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure the websites meets business expectations, functions as designed, and is defect-free.
• Responsible for drafting or updating documentation for the web design and production.
• Assist production deployment and provide post-production support and/or trouble-shooting as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:

• Strong working knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and Team Foundation Server
• Solid working knowledge of modern object-oriented JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, especially jQuery, Bootstrap
• Solid working knowledge of image editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Visual Studio
• Working knowledge of cross-browser/cross-platform development techniques
• Working understanding of responsive design and other complex modern web techniques
• Ability to work as a team-player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate and build consensus for creative ideas
• Familiar with design best practices for page layout, typography and usability
• Possess a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Three (3) or more years’ web development experience with experience/Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and cross-browser development using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or later.
  
• Three (3) or more years’ experience with the latest Web technologies and exposure to evolving technologies like responsive web design, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc.

• Experience developing rich applications using web technologies preferred.
• Experience with web application concepts and techniques including development methodologies and design patterns.
