Responsibilities

  • Work closely with UI/UX designers and backend/server engineers
  • Contribute to the front end and visualization experience of VeloCloud products using HTML5/JavaScript responsive design and JS visualization libraries like (D3js, Processing.js, HighCharts)
  • Create mockups in HTML/CSS, workflows and design specs to quickly visualize and experiment with new features

Requirements

  • Wizard level experience and knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS3
  • Experience with front-end MVC frameworks (e.g. Sencha, Angular, React)
  • Experience with test driven development in JavaScript and developing front end SPAs
  • Strong software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns
  • Experience developing multi-tenant applications desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience with frameworks like react native, NW.js, ionic desirable
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, take ownership of projects, and be accountable for maintaining quality.
  • Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field (or relevant experience)

Front-End/UI Software Developer

Job Description:

Micron Technology is looking for an experienced Front End Developer who can utilize JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS to create and develop effective user interfaces for our Engineering IT department. The successful candidate will work closely with our software application teams to integrate solutions across the software stacks. This candidate will also be responsible for helping drive new and innovative technologies into our environment that span all facets of continuous integration (testing, automated deployments, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Create and integrate intuitive user experiences into our frontend applications.
  • Develop/enhance solutions that solve business needs.
  • Employ ideas and concepts in a team environment that defines success in terms of the team’s overall success.
  • Enhance and provide support for the current Engineering IT frontend solutions that are adding value.
  • Participate in refining our reference architecture framework in order to create user apps that grow and scale with the needs of the company.
  • Generate proactive monitoring and usage metrics that establish system baselines to be able to predict future demands.
  • Monitor website performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems and rectify the issues.
  • Become the SME on how our customers use our software today in order to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Establish feedback loops with key customers by building strong relationships.
  • Review and understand the software roadmap to be able plan future website upgrades with the development team.
  • Plan and implement strategies for minimizing service outages, and for reducing the impact of such outages on business operations (i.e., availability, contingency, and disaster planning).
  • Communicate and collaborate with peer groups (enterprise architects, security team, network team, storage, etc.) to ensure our software meets Microns internal standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, JQuery, AJAX, and CSS.
  • Experience with Bootstrap, JSON, Apache, NodeJS, RESTful web services and/or C# is a plus.
  • Experience with user interaction and visual design techniques.
  • Experience in designing and developing mobile compatible web user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of Web coding standards, security standards and multi-browser compatibilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to drive strategic directions within the department.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
  • Ability to work within and across teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Equivalent experience, certifications will be considered.
  • 3+ years of app or web development experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of web development tools and programming languages
  • Proficiency with AngularJS an asset
