A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FRONT-END DEVELOPER

As a Front-end Developer, you are determined to use your programming skills to help support our distributors and customers on their health and wellness journeys. Each day, you can be found architecting new features that improve the experience for our customers with our many online applications. You also write software that automates business tasks for internal employees. You take the lead on developing new services, systems, and integrations and work with other web developers to continuously improve scalability and user needed enhancements.

Although much of your time is spent working independently, you also take the time to mentor other web developers. By helping them work through challenges or roadblocks, you assist them in leveling up their web development and programming skillset. You enjoy coming to work each day ready to utilize your creative problem-solving skills in our fast-paced agile environment.

In this role, you would need to excel at providing both highly analytical and visually creative ideas. You should have experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment and a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies. You will need to understand how to bring user-centered design process methods to digital applications from concept to launch. You will also need to thrive within a data-driven design culture and quickly react to changes and new feature requirements driven by the analytics you implement.

You should be experienced with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end libraries/frameworks particularly ReactJS. You should also understand responsive design and have a proven track record of meeting user needs, product requirements, and business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop single-page JavaScript applications using the React framework for external and internal users

Create CSS and HTML designs that are responsive and consistent across browsers and mobile devices

Work with product and design resources to create quality mockups and prototypes on those designs for collaborative design discussions

Create HTML templates with server-side frameworks (Python/Django) and JavaScript only applications

Write JavaScript code to connect asynchronously to REST APIs

Work independently on critical projects for Xyngular

Assist other developers to come up with scalable architecture for the services & systems that are worked on

Provide training/mentoring to other members of the team

Work with business units to collaboratively build working software for their needs

COMPETENCIES:

4+ years developing in an Agile environment and/or proven development expertise to work with and maintain software as a team

Proven experience in the following areas:

Communication across teams to effectively interpret and execute designs

Building Front End Applications based on REST APIs

Ability to contribute to the team with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML

Understanding of modern UX design principles and best practices

Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS

Experience using "git" source control tool in a team environment

Talent for problem-solving

Capability to read and understand complex Java script code

Desire to learn and keep up with new technologies

Proven ability to learn and improve skillsets through self-driven motivation and response to feedback

Motivation to learn development concepts and our coding paradigms independently

Optional expertise/experience a plus:

Experience with CSS pre-processors (LESS, SASS, etc.)

Experience programming server and client-side specifically with React Redux applications

Experience with React-native

Experience with developing mobile applications

Familiarity with Jest testing

Experience maintaining and working on build pipelines for Front End components
