Front End Developer

JOB SUMMARY

The Front End Developer is responsible for supplementing and supporting the designers and back end development teams. As a well-rounded front end developer, you will have an opportunity to share best practices, design patterns, and frameworks, while understanding the implications of software designs and implementation choices on application usability, performance and maintainability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Build new and unique application interactions based on existing design framework

Work in partnership with product management, design and development team to deliver the desired product on time

Assist in design to help the entire product team understand the desired customer experience: storyboards; flows; wireframes and prototypes

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Passion to learn emerging technologies and embrace continuous professional development is a must

Professional or personal experience with React framework required

Advanced HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript experience

A team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously

Strong problem solving/code conceptualizing skills and an intuitive nature

Knowledge of different browser quirks with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Mobile browsers on both PCs and MACs

Experience in responsive design methodologies

Experience in a microservices environment

Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms a plus, Docker experience a plus

Familiarity with unit testing preferred

Active Github repo (or portfolio) a plus preferred

Familiarity with Git (or the willingness to learn) preferred

Familiarity with Bootstrap, Foundation, or other CSS framework preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Design or Development, or similar degree preferred

3-4 years of experience in front end development required
