Flight Dynamics Engineer

We’re looking for an outstanding Flight Dynamics Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborating with our research teams.

As the system-level engineer, you will interface and collaborate with aerodynamics and performance engineers, flight control engineers and flight test engineers. The ideal candidate will have fundamental knowledge of flight physics/mechanics with practical real-life implementation experience.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Experience with aerodynamics and simulation
• Ability to model and understand physics-based dynamics
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
• Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentals
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Understanding of airworthiness regulations and the aircraft certification process

• Masters or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Experience in specifying flight test requirements and assessing flight test data
• Experience in communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs
