ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The USF School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS) serves as home to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program, along with a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a post professional Orthopaedic Physical Therapy clinical residency. Each entering class of Physical Therapy students engages in a cutting-edge, interprofessional curriculum delivered by a dynamic faculty from various healthcare disciplines. Since 2007, the School has been one of only three Physical Therapy education programs in the state of Florida to be ranked in the top third of all accredited PT programs by US News & World Report.

This is a professional position providing financial analysis and projections, budget management, and fiscal resource management for the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences. This position analyzes financial and accounting data to keep the School Director, administrators, and faculty investigators informed on the financial and budget status of the unit. This position works closely with and reports to the School Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares and monitors budgets of numerous School accounts related to education, clinic, and research missions.
  • Prepares financial reports (such as statements and spreadsheets) for administration, PIs, and accountable officers.
  • Processes, monitors, and reports expenditures and receipts for E&G, Foundation, Research and UMSA funds.
  • Initiates and prepares non-payroll expenditure transfers, payroll expenditure transfers, and budget transfers.
  • Reconciles ledgers from financial systems and resolves discrepancies from all accounts, including E&G, grants, USF & Research Foundation, Auxiliary accounts, carry-forward, etc.
  • Remains up-to-date on all budgeting, grant funding, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash-related USF policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that financial activities are in compliance with auditing guidelines of applicable federal and state regulations, as well as USF Health and USF policies and procedures.
  • Assists administrators of the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations of the School.
  • Trains other staff as needed in USF accounting procedures.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or other field directly related to the position’s specific responsibilities and two years of fiscal related work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in no specific required field and three years of fiscal related work experience; or six years fiscal related work experience.

PREFERRED:
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and two years of professional business experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with University accounting procedures.
  • Earned designation as a Certified Public Accountant.
