Financial Service Representative

Meet all productivity goals/standards as established.

The ability to meet established sales and service goals as required.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of similar experience in a financial institution, preferably with lending and call center experience.

Knowledgeable of financial service products and lending services.

Knowledge of credit union policies and procedures preferred.

Knowledge of lending policies and procedures including interest rates preferred.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance regarding lending and the loan application process preferred.

Knowledge of debit card, credit card and electronic transaction posting preferred.

Must be able to provide accurate information to credit union Members regarding their finances and credit union accounts.

Possess working knowledge and understanding of cross-selling techniques.

The ability to accurately evaluate credit bureau reports and notate cross-sell opportunities.

Must have strong knowledge of electronic services and self-service banking technology.

Must be able to use a computer and must possess basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and Outlook) Windows operating systems and the ability to access/navigate the Internet/Intranet.

Must be able to organize work, set priorities, and pay strict attention to detail.

Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, including the ability to hear clearly.

The ability to handle tight deadlines and stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

Must be able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and in a fast paced environment.

Must have the ability to work cooperatively and positively with diverse groups, including staff, directors, members and vendors within and outside the credit union.

Must be able to use a telephone and possess knowledge and understanding of proper telephone etiquette, greeting protocol and interpersonal interaction.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Must have average vision abilities and ordinary visual acuity necessary to read, prepare or inspect documents, products or operate machinery.

Must have hearing abilities to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information as well as frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.

Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, move wrist, hands and/or fingers frequently and must be able to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together primarily using just fingers.

Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

The ability to travel as required.

Must be able to certify with National Mortgage License System (NMLS).

Must be Bondable.

Duties and Responsibilities

Gain understanding of HEBFCU loan application process, coupled with the ability to identify additional borrowing opportunities for Members.

Responsible for entering all loan type applications received via telephone, mail, fax, email or in person, retrieving inquires on the Member’s accounts, pulling credit reports, and obtaining general loan application information.

Responsible for e-mailing mailing, faxing, or completing in person, the proper forms for all HEBFCU accounts as requested by mail, telephone, fax, e-mail or in person, and responding within 24 hours of request.

Responsible for initiating phone calls on loan applications in the loan-queue within one hour.

Responsible for obtaining and entering general information of Member requests on all accounts via personal computer.

Responsible for withdrawals and loan transfers by phone, mail, fax, e-mail or in person.

Responsible for understanding and providing interest rate information to members on all account types.

Responsible for opening and closing accounts as requested by members.

Responsible for understanding and providing interest rate information to members on all loan types.

Responsible for following proper procedures regarding stop payments and check re-orders.

Responsible for funding system approved loans.

Responsible for funding add-ons to unsecured loans.

Responsible for properly closing any/all types of HEBFCU loans.

Responsible for paying drafts or processing titles for transfers.

Responsible for follow-up on closed loan files.

Responsible for cross-selling all financial products and services.

Maintain confidentiality concerning Member financial status and financial transactions.

May be required to travel to H-E-B locations on Business development visits.

To provide backup duties as a Teller I position.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.35 to $20.65 /hour
